Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Memo It ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal memo application developed and published by the Memo It Team. You can reach us at support@memoit.org.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

Memo It does not collect, transmit, or share any of the following:

• Your memo content (text, voice recordings, photos, videos, files)
• Your location data
• Your task lists or any other app content
• Your device identifiers, IP address, or usage analytics
• Your name, email address, or any account information

There is no account registration. There are no servers storing your data. There is no analytics SDK in the app.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All content you create in Memo It is stored exclusively in your device's local storage using SQLite and standard Android file storage. This includes:

• Memo text and metadata
• Voice recordings, photos, videos, and attached files
• Location pins
• Task lists
• App preferences and language settings
• Pro upgrade status

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the device migration feature (see Section 5).

4. Permissions Used

Memo It requests the following Android permissions, used solely for the features described:

• Microphone — to record voice memos within the app
• Camera — to take photos or record videos directly into a memo
• Storage / Media access — to attach photos, videos, and files from your gallery
• Location — to attach your current location to a memo (only when you tap the location button)
• Internet — required by Google Play Billing for in-app purchases, and for loading website link previews inside memos
• Local Network / Wi-Fi — used only during device migration to transfer data directly between two devices on the same network

No permission data is ever sent to our servers.

5. Device Migration (Pro Feature)

The QR Wi-Fi migration feature transfers your memo data directly from your old device to your new device over a local Wi-Fi or hotspot connection. This transfer is:

• Fully peer-to-peer — no server is involved
• Encrypted in transit using HTTPS on the local network
• Initiated only when you explicitly start the migration flow

We never receive, see, or store any data from this transfer.

6. In-App Purchases

Memo It offers a one-time Pro upgrade ($10) processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not handle your payment information directly. Google's privacy policy applies to the purchase transaction. We only receive a confirmation that the purchase was completed — no payment details are shared with us.

7. Link Previews

If you type or paste a URL into a memo, the app may fetch a preview of that link (title, description, image) from the internet. This network request is made from your device directly to the target website — it does not pass through our servers.

8. Third-Party Services

Memo It uses the following third-party components:

• Google Play Billing — for in-app purchases (Google's privacy policy applies)
• Google Maps — tapping a saved location pin opens it in Google Maps (Google's privacy policy applies)

No advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash reporting services are included in the app.

9. Children's Privacy

Memo It does not collect any personal data from any user, including children under the age of 13. The app is suitable for general audiences. Since no data is transmitted to us, no special parental consent mechanism is required.

10. Data Security

Because all your data remains on your device, its security depends on your device's own security (lock screen, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device secured. We have no access to your data and cannot recover it if your device is lost.

11. Data Deletion

To delete all your Memo It data, simply uninstall the app from your device. All locally stored data will be removed. You can also delete individual memos within the app at any time.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and note the changes in the app's Play Store listing. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
